Greetings

Hypoluxo residents,

Greetings.  As Mayor I want keep you informed as to what is happening here in the Town of Hypoluxo, your town. Your elected officials and staff are dedicated to keeping Hypoluxo a town of which you can be proud.  Your input and suggestions are always welcomed.  Please participate in your Town government by attending the monthly Council meetings scheduled on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM.

There will be an election on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 for the Mayor of the Town.  Mayor Michael Brown is seeking re-election for a three-year term.  No election for Town Council members will be held as all candidates were elected without opposition.  Incumbents Richard Roney and Stephanie Kahlert were re-elected unopposed for three-year terms.  Newly elected Councilmember Doug Besecker was elected unopposed for a two-year term completing the term of former Councilmember Brad Doyle who resigned in December 2023 and newly elected Councilmember John Sochacki was elected unopposed for a two-year term completing the term of former Councilmember Bob Leupp who resigned in December 2023.  The Town Councilmembers are Richard Roney, Linda Allen, Stephanie Kahlert, Doug Besecker and John Sochacki.

The final phase of converting the remainder of the Town of Hypoluxo from septic systems to sewer is underway with a completion date of September 30, 2024.     After completing this significant milestone project, Hypoluxo will be entirely septic free.  In addition to protecting the Lake Worth lagoon by reducing pollutants the project can serve as a success story for small coastal communities located directly on the water.

Mayor Michael Brown and the Town Council is negotiating with The Palm Beach County Library System to open a branch library at 7200 S. Federal Highway in the Town of Hypoluxo.  Our Town will be fortunate to have the Library System opening a branch library.  The facility will be centrally located on S. Federal Highway at Park Lane East with easy access to all residents of Hypoluxo providing a great service to the residents of our Town.  Planning for the facility will take place in 2024 with construction and opening planned for late 2025.  Along with our beautiful parks, the library will be another jewel for the Town of Hypoluxo.

Sincerely,

Michael Brown, Mayor

Town of Hypoluxo
